There are moments in business that stop you in your tracks, the kind that make you pause, breathe, and truly appreciate how far you've come. For me, that moment arrived when I was named Prolific North Female Tech Entrepreneur of the Year.
To be recognised in this way, among so many inspirational innovators and leaders across the North, is something I’ll carry with me for a long time. Awards like this are never just about one person — they reflect the ideas, the resilience, the lessons learned, the people who stand beside you, and the energy that keeps you pushing forward even on the tough days.
The Journey Behind the Win
Building something meaningful in tech requires courage, courage to challenge norms, to innovate boldly, to take risks, to fail fast and learn faster. It requires passion and an unwavering belief that the future can look different, better, more impactful.
This award represents that journey, the late nights, the breakthrough moments, the setbacks that became lessons, and the vision that refused to fade. It's proof that persistence matters, purpose matters, and that when you surround yourself with the right people, progress becomes possible.
It's also a reminder of the power of turning pain into purpose, choosing to channel loss, love and memory into something that builds, supports and grows. In moments like this, I like to think, and deeply hope, that my darling Andy Wake would be so incredibly proud of all I have achieved. His presence, his influence, and the love we shared remain a constant source of strength and drive.
A Heartfelt Thank You
No entrepreneurial journey happens in isolation. I am deeply grateful to the people who have supported me, those who saw the vision, believed in it, and invested not just their resources, but their trust.
To all my investors - thank you for backing the mission with conviction and for standing alongside me through every milestone and challenge.
To my Non-Exec, Richard Gregory - your guidance, clarity and leadership have been invaluable.
And to my accountant, Michael Hill of Linto Accountancy - thank you for your support, expertise and partnership.
I am incredibly lucky to have such brilliant people on this journey with me.
Looking Ahead
This is not the finish line, it’s fuel. Fuel for innovation, fuel for disruption, fuel to continue amplifying women in tech and building businesses that break boundaries. I’m proud of what’s been achieved so far, but even more excited about what’s still to come.
Because if this journey has taught me anything, it’s that big ideas become real through action and we’re only just getting started.
Here’s to innovation, to progress, to ambition, and to more women being recognised, celebrated and leading the way in technology!
